Description

RESIDENTIAL PROGRAM:

We are a program-based homeless shelter for single women and women with children (under the age of 18) that offers a 30-day initial stay, and grant 30-day extensions if residents are actively working toward goals. We can house up to 24 residents at a time. Our shelter consists of sleeping rooms for single women or women with children. We provide residents with a safe sleeping space and stable environment so that they may focus on their goals of obtaining permanent, stable housing. We work with each individual client to identify barriers to success, obtain employment, savings, and financial management. We are not a Domestic Violence shelter and do not offer that level of security. If you are actively fleeing a domestically violent situation, please connect with appropriate resources.

HOMELESS PREVENTION SERVICES:

We help individuals and families experiencing homelessness, or at risk of becoming homeless, by providing resources, education, and assistance. Priority is based on situational needs such as sudden job loss, prescribed medications, rent/housing, utilities, vehicle trouble, accidental or emergency, and other needs that are essential for sustaining life and/or health.

Intake Requirements

First come first serve. Must call the shelter directly and then there is a full inquiry process, phone interview is conducted first to acquire basic demographic information. For persons in correctional facilities, the intake questionnaire is performed by the correctional facility. The guestÂ’s last resident must be located within their service area (6 locations qualify). If outside of the area, atleast must be located in IN to qualify. The applicant must go through a formal background check and must also self disclose during the initial interview. An inquiry is performed to search for active warrants. Felonies are a disqualifier if it involves a violent crime. The applicant must agree to the house rules, and will be subject to disciplinary actions for failure to adhere.
