Description

We provide services to women, children, and transgender individuals who are experiencing poverty or homelessness. The Gathering Place provides fresh, nutritious meals to our members three times a day. Members can receive 25 lbs of food every 30 days. Visit the Resource Desk to access pre-made food bags during our operating hours. Betsy's Cupboard is run entirely by volunteer support. Our Family Program provides a safe and fun space for children under the age of 18. Staff also provides resources and referrals specifically designed for families. Four private shower stalls are available to members Monday through Friday for 15 minute use. Hygiene and towels are provided for in-house use. Washers and dryers are available on-site. There is no cost to use the washers and dryers, and we provide detergent. Three phones are available for members to use while at The Gathering Place. The phones are for outgoing, local calls only. The Gathering Place works with a variety of partners to offer health services in our Wellness Area. Services include mental health, physical and sexual health, a mobile clinic, and more. Six beds are available for members to rest Monday through Friday during operating hours. TGP's Job Readiness program offers support with résumé assistance, interview prep, job seeking, skill development, career and skills assessments and employment case management. Job search assistance and resource navigation for educational and training programs is conducted every Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Also, we have periodic job skills classes and on-site hiring events. The Computer Lab provides members with access to computers and the internet. We also have a Teen Computer Lab to fit the needs of some of our families. TGP’s Peer Recovery Program provides trauma-informed peer recovery support through individualized recovery plans and service navigation in a low-barrier, non-clinical setting led by certified peer navigator. Program participants have access to a full spectrum of onsite recovery supports and linkage to comprehensive community resources for physical and mental health, housing, and other supportive services to promote wellness and recovery from trauma, mental illness, substance use and/or the impacts of homelessness.
