Description
Emergency Shelter: Located at 363 Albany Street in the South End, the Womens Inn is open 24/7/365 and provides a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment for 81 guests each night. Staff members work with guests to create a pathway to permanent supportive housing, providing connections to critical services that help reduce the lengths of homelessness and support each individual in their housing goal.
Housekeeping: The Housekeeping Job Training Program provides men and women with skills that enable them to enter the commercial housekeeping workforce. While enrolled in the program, trainees clean and maintain the main campus at Pine Street Inn, assist in room set-up and laundry service, and participate in skill-building classes such as financial literacy, professionalism and job readiness.
I cater Job Training Program:
I Cater trainees are exposed to a wide range of experiences: working in a high-volume commercial kitchen, receiving cooking instruction and advice from professional chefs, and becoming certified in food safety. Over the course of the program, trainees take mandatory classes such as Financial Literacy and Professionalism. They also complete the ServSafe certification, a requirement in the food service industry. These skills help ensure that program graduates are competitive applicants for employment.
