Description
The Emergency Shelter is open 24 hours every day. Families may reside in the Shelter for a maximum of 6 months. The Shelters current capacity is 30 women and children (boys under the age of 12).
Families are generally referred to PVSS by other social service agencies, schools, civic organizations, and religious institutions.
PVSS collaborates with other agencies to provide coordinated case management support. Each family develops a written individual life plan and works on accomplishing self-sufficiency goals in areas such as employment, education, housing, immigration, mental health, English as a Second Language, parenting, and budgeting. Each family also learns key financial literacy skills, which allow them to save a substantial portion of their income.
1-Year Transitional Housing:
Single- and two-parent households with children may reside in the two 1-Year Transitional Housing for a maximum of 12 months. Up to 8 families may share these units.
