Resident Life at Butterfly House can be jam-packed full of activities, and establishing a good balance of work, play, and educational activities are essential for resident success. Everyone is required to maintain full-time employment, complete daily chores, complete drug education, and relapse prevention studies, and participate in regular community service activities. Residents meet with their sponsor at least one time per week and attend daily 12 Step Meetings. Practical Life Skill activities include among other things, goal setting and practicing time management, money management and budgeting, gardening and food preservation, and house and yard maintenance. “Quiet time” activities include crafting, baking, journaling, or watching movies. We feel that Butterfly House is in the perfect location, adjacent to the St. Croix River and near some of the best attractions that our area of Wisconsin has to offer. Depending on the season, residents can enjoy hiking, biking, canoeing, fishing, swimming, camping, cross country skiing or snowshoeing at Interstate Park, or skiing, snow tubing, zip-lining and obstacle course at nearby Trollhaugen Ski Resort.
